My family and I briefly ventured into Zion National Park in Utah, making it my fourth National Park, but sadly, I did not take a photo by the sign. It was beautiful and quite majestic. For odd reasons, I wasn’t in a photographic mood, so mostly I just observed. At times, that is the best decision. Connecting with your subject ranks highest in priority than photographing it. The day was overcast but as we decided to leave the park, a bit of sunshine greeted us and I saw THIS. I knew right then and there that would be the only photograph of Zion I’d need for the day. And it was.

Hope to visit again in the future and explore a few of the trails. I am nowhere near as hardcore to attempt “The Narrows” trail. But it sounds like this shiz.

How was your weekend, friends? My mom has been here in town for a few days and we are both heading to visit family in Vegas this week. Ahhh sunshine awaits me. Have a darling day, y’all.

How was your Christmas weekend? I admit I decided to listen to my body and rest. A lovely Sunday brunch was had with friends, on a spectacular sunny yet rainy day. Oh it was beautiful. The food was simple and amazing. And the company? Heart-warming.

Most of the weekend was spent organizing, purging and cleaning my office, kitchen and closet. I looked through old photos and notes and discarded those for which my heart has no place for anymore. I’ve realized how much I’ve grown- how we’ve ALL grown. On Monday, I made a visit to IKEA in order to buy lots of white boxes to organize my finished products. It’s been a mess for a while now. Yikes.

I believe this New Year’s weekend will promise the same relaxation as the previous.

It’s good to be old enough to actually be OKAY with spending New Year’s Eve at home, by yourself.
