EHRMAHGERD.
So I finally bought me a sewing machine.
CONGRATULATIONS IT’S A BERNINA!!! I got it at Modern Domestic here in Portland and my friend Brittany helped me unload it BECAUSE IT’S GIGANTOR.
And, of course, I began to cry because, really, I’m 31 and that’s all I seem to do nowadays.
AHHHH That new Bernina smell. Astounding.
GIGANTOR BOXES. Myself, as Maru, and Brittany, as Sea Captain discovering land.
I AM SO EXCITED, IS IT OKAY TO CONTINUE THE ALL CAPS EXTRAVAGANZA?!?!?!?!
MAY THE LITTLE BRIGHT STUDIO EMPIRE COMMENCE!
Ahem.
Love, Amy
You are so lucky!!! I am happy for you!!! I want one so bad…..
The financing is not too bad at all! I’m just so happy with it! Thanks for commenting!
Why did you choose that model?
I liked the extra area in the middle. It’s perfect for all the big bags I will sew.
Congratulations.
Thank you!
Congratulations on your acquisition and thinking in and out of the box 🙂
Hahaha thanks!!
Cute! What model did you get? I still remember my first Bernina, under the Christmas tree in 1980. Now I am on my second. For my third, I want the 830 but I have to save a lot of money first! I can hardly wait!
Yeah, these require a ridiculous amount of saving. I got the B710! It’s a work-horse! Thanks for posting!
Congratulations! Please let me know how u like it. I’m looking 4 a new machine Bernina or Janome . Thanks
I am loving it so far!!
I love it! hahahaha! what a great post! is this your first Bernina? I have a Viking and I have to admit, I enjoyed sewing on the Bs at MD for the most part….you make handbags? Does the B710 handle the thick/hard parts pretty well? 😀 sorry, so many questions!
This is totally my first Bernina! So far, from what I’ve tested it handles thickness quite well! Yes, I make bags! And the table is one from Ikea that my good friend Amy gave me. It’s a little too wobbly at times, but I’m confident it’s sturdy. CONTINUE WITH THE QUESTIONS!
ALSO…lolz, the table…what table is that? I’m hating my table. 😀
Congratulations!! My husband surprised me with a Bernina 710 in February for our 47th Anniversary (Yikes, that makes me 67 years old) and I LOVE IT. Have fun learning all the neat things about this honey of a machine. I call mine “Big Bertha” and my older (circa 1998) Bernina is called “Little Jo”.
Congratulations on your 47th anniversary! And that’s a great gift, I may say.
Oh my Amy! You are too cute. I especially love the people in box photos. Enjoy!
Haha I could LIVE inside those boxes! Thank you for helping me load it to the car!
Omg the last two photos!! The best!! <3
